Because not all of us love to meditate.

Have you ever had one of those days you were so busy in your head, rushing and buzzing around like a lunatic, knowingly at mercy of your mind chatter and not really sure what the flip to do to calm yourself the heck down?  I know I have.  One of the simple techniques I taught at Debunking Stress was Heart Coherence, a quick awareness technique that realigns your awareness and gets you out of that darn monkey chatter than goes on inside your beautiful head and back into a calm state of being.  Best of all, it takes just minutes.

If I can sleep at night, if I’m finding myself in an unproductive tail chasing frenzy, or about to lose the plot – this is my go to practice.  It was first introduced to me by my business coach and all round life saver Lara Wilson.  I discovered that the heart energy races along five times faster than the heart (and I’ve shared much more in depth about it here).

I wanted to leave you today with this simple, effective practice that takes less time than lining up for your morning coffee and has a far more calming effect than your daily shot of caffeine.  Best still, you can load this onto your desktop or print it out and stick it on your fridge as a daily reminder of how to make your brain happier, your body less stressed and you feel better in your skin in minutes.  After all, it’s the little techniques that often amount to big changes.  Give it a go and tell me what you think.  I know I said it wasn’t true meditation – I may have fibbed a little.
