Tara Bliss… with a surname like that, what’s not to love?

Meet the beautiful Tara Bliss. She’s a woman with a beautiful vision, she’s changing lives and she is just one of those people you want to love more. She’s here to tell us her story – she’s gone from party girl to truly living and loving life with a bigger awareness in the reality that life is there for the taking and it’s up to you to make it flipping terrific. She found herself at the tipping point – live wasn’t (and sometimes isn’t) always daisy chains and rainbows – but with the right mindset and awareness you can turn things 360 to create the life worth living. I’ll let Tara tell you in her words!

Tell us a little about you and how you became a life coach?
Three years ago, I launched Such Different Skies as a travel and lifestyle blog, and used it as a place to write about snowboarding, hiking, music and adventures. My spiritual journey grabbed me while I was living in Whistler, Canada, and before I knew it, my blog started changing. It wasn’t about parties and backpacking anymore, instead, I began peppering it with personal growth posts (as I began leaning away from self-destructive behaviour), and pressing questions for my (small) audience.

I became a life coach because essentially the focal point of my blog changed from me, to my slowly but surely growing tribe. I embraced vulnerability. I shared my story more openly than before. I aimed to get into the hearts of my readers, and by doing that, I gained their trust- they felt safe with me.

In nine months i’ve been able to transform from my business from an on-the-side thing, to a full time, abundant, entrepreneurial dream. Thank God for that little voice inside that suggested I start a travel blog while I was picking mandarins in central Queensland. Without that voice, I wouldn’t have created the space that allowed me to grow into this purposeful, fulfilling life.

What is your favourite thing about your, (dare i say) ‘job’?
Combining my deep longing for FREEDOM with an equally deep urge to feel USEFUL.

On a lifestyle level, I love that my working life is designed in way that not only brings out the best in me, but leaves me feeling insanely grateful on a daily basis. I’m more energetic and creative in the mornings, so that’s when I work with most of my clients; having afternoons off to cook and write and laugh is total bliss. I love that I can cross the road and spend time at the beach between clients, and that I can wear ugg boots and yoga tights during sessions!

But on a much deeper level- it’s all about generosity. As I mentioned, that pull toward feeling useful and valuable to my tribe, and the innate and primate urge inside of me that just wants to do something good in the world- THAT’S what I love about being an online entrepreneur. Making people smile. Filling them with hope. Giving them permission to be different. It’s all magic.

It feels damn good to be feeling so sovereign and aware at 26 years old. My ‘job’ has allowed me to ‘become’ the woman I always hoped I could be.

What is your fave thing to do to unwind?
A hot shower. Track pants. A pony tail. A cup of tea with one of my man’s famous raw desserts. And snuggles. I’m a nerd. My party days are well and truly behind me!
Also, nothing in the world beats a lengthy chakra meditation (I love to lay down with crystals on each of my chakras). 30 minutes of that feels better in my body than any green juice!

Often with improving fertility people need to make some big life changes to get back to balance and ultimately give their bodies the best chance at working as they should, you are quite the fear busting queen, and most people are often fearful of change. Do you have any tips or advice on how to let go of fear and make change?
This is a really serendipitous question actually, because I myself am on my own fertility-improving journey at the moment! Personally, I like to remove the drama and the ‘stories’ from our fears, and instead, try and find the adventure in the whole situation.

Just a few days ago, I arrived home after having seen my naturopath- loaded with herbs for my lady parts and liver- and I can honestly tell you, I’ve never been more inspired to nurture and heal my body. We have a choice when we’re embarking on change; we can attach ourselves to the story of why we’re in pain, and what’s physically ailing us, or we can become empowered by opportunities to make beautiful, nourishing, lasting change in our life.

I echo your message Nat, and that’s that we need to work with our bodies (and our fears!), rather than berating them and believing that they’re out to fail us. If your body is niggling at you, whispering to you that something’s not quite right (yes, you!), don’t be afraid. Take action from a place of love and presence and treat this imbalance as a gentle sign to remember what’s real and important in your life. I don’t know about you- but I value a happy cervix and glowing skin over 10 vodka lime and sodas.

Bottom line: Have fun! Be romanced by the produce at the farmers markets, get excited about super foods, create rad routines that support you and inspire you throughout the day and try new things! The more creativity you harness in your life, the more you heal chakra two (which is where our lady parts (and their imbalances) are housed!).

Absolutely loving all your delish recipes you post on your blog. What is your fave ‘go to’ meal on the run?
I always lean towards easy meals when my superstar chef husband isn’t home, so yummy, nutrient dense quinoa dishes (like my Epic Chakra Quinoa), or salads laden with herbs, sprouts, pesto and seeds, make regular appearances. I also love superfood smoothies and young Thai coconuts. Yum!

    Hi Nat,

Is there anything you would recommend giving to children before a vaccination? Something calming etc? Or to help with it post vaccination.

    Thanks

    Marg

LOVE this girl! Great interview. I too have gone from partying and trashing my body, to wanting to nourish and love it with great food to now looking at how I can improve my fertility and embrace my health and womanhood on an entirely new level. Thank you Nat, you’re making it easier for young women to talk about these previously ‘taboo’ topics!

Ooo! Nourishing the body – something we all often neglect when we get caught up in our day-today life. Tara is a beautiful inspiration to really nourish and create sensational rituals to cultivate throughout each day to feel grounded and support a wholesome livelihood! Thank you both Tara and Nat for sharing the good juju 🙂
