Meet Madeleine Shaw – she’s all the way from the UK and is a Nutritional Health Coach who’s studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She’s one clever chick and about to launch her very own food delivery service in the UK (you go girlfriend!) AND her 6 week coaching course! Fair to say, she’s as busy as the rest of us. I connected with Madeleine quite some time ago and instantly was captivated by her. This chick oozes wellness. Here’s what she had to say when I asked her a little more about herself and her fertility.
What does fertility mean to you?
To me it means our womanly right to be able to reproduce, to be a healthy and happy woman!
What is one ritual or practice that you do that connects you back to yourself as a woman?
Yoga, I love to feel in touch with my body and breath, it connects me to who I am.
If you could tell your teen self 1 piece of advice about health/fertility/hormones, what would it be?
Just relax, stress doesn’t help. Everything will come out right!
Would you change something you did in previous years with regard to fertility and health? If so what might that be?
I lost my period for a good year a few years a go. This was due to poor eating habits and taking the pill for many many years. If I could I would have eaten more healthy fat, taken care of my body better and used a more natural method of contraception. However we live and we learn and this experience has got me to the place I am, so I probably wouldn’t have it any other way.
What ignites you?
Making people happy, good clean food and laughter.
What’s your one essential health item?
Coconut oil, it has so many uses!
Coconut…I just LOVE IT!
Favourite movie or book?
The Alchemist (book)
Listening to the “pitch perfect” movie album, I bust out those ballads on a daily basis.
Morning or Evening routine?
Morning – lemon and warm water, meditation and yoga.
Evening – reading and a little journaling
That said, I am not perfect, when I stay at my boyfriends house this can sometimes go out the window, however he is very into warm water and lemon!
Anything else you want to share with my readers?
I am launching a food delivery service in the UK and a 6 week program coaching course done in person and via Skype, get in contact via my site.
