Wellness Woman Wednesday: Michelle Merrifield

Meet Michelle Merrifield – this beauty is an educator, author, speaker and an oh so inspiring being who I so happily share with you this Wellness Woman Wednesday.  I love hearing what fertility means to different women – because of course as Michelle knows too well, we are all different and uniquely beautiful.  Michelle nails my definition of fertility today.  Read on to learn what inspires Michelle and her little Instagram addiction.

1. What does fertility mean to you?

To me when I hear the word fertility I always think of nutrient rich soil for planting seeds and growing a garden.

2. What is one ritual or practice that you do that connects you back to yourself as a woman?

I always feel so feminine when I dress up in a pretty dress and heels and put on makeup for date nights with my beloved partner as I spend most of my life wearing Lycra, bare feet and fresh faced.

3. If you could tell your teen self 1 piece of advice about health/fertility/hormones, what would it be?

I would say, “You are beautiful and loved just as you are. Remember to follow your heart and listen to your instincts as they will guide you in the right direction.”

4. Would you change something you did in previous years with regard to fertility and health?  If so what might that be?

I was very fortunate to grow up in a super health conscious family with my mum endlessly creating nutritious meals for my sister and I to enjoy. One thing however I wish I were more conscious about growing up was a better skin care practice. Being a beach baby with fair complexion has definitely resulted in my skin being damaged from too much sun exposure from a young age. Skin is the biggest organ of our bodies and our first layer of defense from the external world so it’s important to look after it.

5. What ignites you?

I love inspiring others to connect with their higher selves and live a life they love. Watching people transform physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually is one of the most rewarding parts of my life.

6. What’s your one essential health item?

Nothing is more important than connecting to the eternal love that is inside of all of us. When we connect with this divine vibration our cups are always full and we no longer look outside of ourselves to fill up our cups.

Take the time to slow down, tune in and connect with the love that is all around you. This connection with everyone and everything comes from a regular meditation practice of disconnecting with the delusion of life’s daily drama and quieting the monkey mind.

Once we are firmly grounded in the seat of stillness and connected with anahata (heart) chakra we naturally make better health and lifestyle choices because we feel centered and complete at our core.

7. Favorite food?

I love anything green, especially spinach (I think I am a living Popeye)!

8. Favorite movie or book?

I love to read and I try to read every day, as there is so much to learn and understand. One thing I know is that most successful people in life read everyday to broaden their knowledge and expand their potential. I’m an unusual bookworm who reads almost exclusively non-fiction books based on personal development, business, health and spirituality.

9. Cheesy addiction? (ie boy bands or soap mags)

I actually love my Instagram feed, as it’s a fun way to share my daily thoughts and insights that come up after my meditation/contemplation practice. It’s like an open book diary for me to go back & review. I really believe journaling is very healing and empowering so Instagram has become my expression of this.

10. Morning or Evening routine?

The order of my daily practice changes depending on my work commitments but it always includes a daily meditation practice, yoga or Pilates practice, walk with my two dogs Shanti and Shiva, vegan super food protein shake, Instagram feed, greens and tell my partner I love him. Obviously lots of other things occur each day but these are my staple must dos.
