The Simple Secret Hormone Balancing Weapon…

I’m all about less is more and I’m all about simplicity.  After all, there’s already enough to life as it is, right?  In the spirit of all that, I continue to keep my treatment focus for patients in the clinic pretty simple too which is why it hit me like a sack of psyllium when I had the idea to create something super simple for women, to help balance their hormones.  Truthfully, my throat got to the point it started to close over (metaphorically speaking), each time I told a women to mix a few simple ingredients together in a bid to create happier hormones.  But more so, asking several weeks later if my wish had been followed through, most often I got a blank stare and a reply, “I haven’t had a chance.”  But what if, this was the simple secret hormone balancing weapon….

So I took the chance and made it for you. EASY!

You know it; food is medicine.  I will continue for the rest of my life to take Dr Tom Obryan’s words and use them as my own because they are so darn profound.  Food is one of two things.  It is either of benefit or deficit. There really is no in-between. It either supports health or strips it making each and every mouthful a powerful force.  When I discovered that fibre was a secret weapon for women’s hormones, I was over the moon – because fibre is something pretty simple to add to our daily regime.

Say hello, if you haven’t already, to my Balancing Cleanse Shake.

Balance your hormones with this simple mix

The liver has five detoxification roles, the most common we speak of is phase 1 and phase 2 detoxification.   It’s the second of these we’re most interested in for happier hormones (even though phase 1 is important – don’t worry I’ve got that covered too).

This is known as the conjugation pathway.  Through conjugation, the liver is able to turn hormones and various other toxins into excretable substances.  If the diet isn’t great, your internal toxic load is greater than what the liver can cope with or you’re playing catchup in recovering from synthetic hormones like the pill, the mirena or even from IVF treatments, you can find yourself feeling pretty lop-sided.

It was during my research of cleansing and detoxification in the evolving creation of Cleanse Yourself, I learnt excess hormones like testosterone and oestrogen like to bind to fibre.  That’s one simple trick to eliminate those that are causing a host of issue related back to hormone imbalance or hormone excess.  Fibre assists the liver, in moving out the unwanted – hormones included.  Double win!

Almost all hormone imbalance conditions benefit from giving the liver a little tender loving care.  These include (but are not limited to);

+ Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) or PCO (and all it’s associated symptoms including facial hair and acne)

+ Post pill/mirena/implanon amenorrhea

+ Ovulation pain and period pain

+ PMS – anxiety, depression, sore breasts, headaches in the lead up to the period

+ Endometriosis/Adenomyosis

+ Fibroids and other growths like polyps

+ Weight gain

The list goes on!

You probably want to meet and start my Balancing Cleanse Shake from the Yo’Nuts range right about now.  I don’t want to keep you in suspense, BUT I’ve got more to tell you about this winner.  Its simple ingredients aren’t rocket science however what I claim to be the perfect mix of pre-biotics and fibre to really give your sex hormones some care.

But it’s what’s on the inside that counts…

It’s this mix of organic ingredients like psyllium, slippery elm that tick off more than just the liver.  These also help to gently sweep the gut as well as provide this pre-biotic factor.

Pre-biotics are those which feed the probiotics, aka- good bacteria which we’ve become so fond of and over time, can be equally if not more important than probiotics to continue to help with renewal of this good bacteria.  We’ve added the benefits of chia and flaxseed to really seal the deal in hormone help.  And there we have it – a trifecta!  A very simple mix that supports the gut, regulates the liver and balances hormones.

Would you believe, it’s taken me a whole year to tell you this exact story, although you may have heard me in the flesh speak about this mix and its wonders.  If you’ve found yourself in a hormonal mess, this is here to help!  But I want you to have the whole kit and caboodle.

The cleanse shake can work alone, in a glass each morning mixed with water, diluted juice or a smoothie.  Some put it on top of their breakfast – I don’t mind how you use it, just start using it!  But what’s more, if you are one of the unlucky ones dealing with imbalance, coupling this with cleansing works an absolute treat to set the wheels in motion.

Whilst I don’t generally advocate for cleansing during winter, I do want to take you towards better health, which is why we may make exceptions.  The cleanse mix is appropriate to take all year around however… Tap into the FREE cleanse course (also sometimes better with a friend – just saying) and couple it with the Cleanse shake each morning to really take things up a notch!  When you sign up to the cleanse, you also gain access to the cleanse group to get the support you need throughout.

Now that I’ve began sorting out your life, I have one more goodie to add to the mix.  Yo’Nut orders over $30 qualify for free shipping!  The Balancing Cleanse Mix is now in a larger size too, for those of you really serious about it… we’ve got it all covered!

    Hi
Just wondering how exactly the nut mix helps to balance hormones and if there are any scientific journal articles you can send for me to read more for this info?
    Thanks!

      Hi Irene,

There is a lot of this online you will easily be able to find simply by searching. I had read so much on the nutrients in nuts and seeds as well as the benefits of fibre for liver health to help move excess hormones via phase 2 detoxification. Simply search benefits of nuts and hormones but here are a few – Health Benefits of Nuts, Nuts, Body Weight and Insulin Resistance but I’m sure you’ll find lots!

Is slippery elm safe to take in early stages of pregnancy? I’m only about 4 weeks along, but I enjoy my fibre cleanse drink in the morning but I think I read somewhere that slippery elm can create misscarriages

I just listened to your MindBodyGreen podcast, and was impressed to say the least Relatable, informative, and a big missing piece to modern healthcare! I have ordered the 4 ingredients listed for the cleanse blend, and read about it more in this post. This is great. However, I was curious what ratio you suggest for each of the 4 ingredients, and if there were any other specific instructions to the mixture. (Just to get started, I started with 1 Tablespoon of each, and stirred briskly with water). I’m excited to also have just joined the Membership Collective, and am grateful for this level of heath coverage and attention.

    Thank you!!

Thank you! I’m so happy you have access to this. I like to do two parts psyllium & slippery elm to one part each of flax and chia. ie 100gm of psyllium & slippery elm and 50gm flax and chia. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for your beautiful comments I’m glad you enjoyed the podcast!

Wonderful, thank you so mich for your reply!!! That does make sense. However, I forgot to ask what you recommend for serving size of the combined mixture. I’ve been pleased with the blend, and figured I should just make sure I was in the right ballpark for my daily serving. Many thanks!
