There is no reason that you won't be able to conceive from this - I've written about spotting before, you can learn more here. http://www.natkringoudis.com/pre-period-spotting-what-it-really-means/

Thank you so much for this article, it's so helpful.

I was wondering if I could get some advice.

I'm 24 and my husband and I are going to be starting to try for a family next month. With all the stories you hear of people having troubles getting pregnant, it has given me so much anxiety that I am almost scared to start trying because I'm worried it won't happen right away.

I'm wondering if you can tell me if my cycle sounds normal or not.

I have a 28-29 day cycle and have never missed a period. Before my period starts I get this brown looking blood for a day or two. Then, I get really bad cramps for a couple of hours and then my period comes in relatively heavy. My cycle lasts about 4-5 days and gets very light by the last day. Other than the first day, my period doesn't really affect my life. It can quite heavy at times but my cramps subside by the second day. I have googled and googled and can't seem to find out if it's normal to have brown blood before your period starts - is this normal? I think I definitely ovulate as I usually get little tiny pains in the lower abdomen and my cervical mucus turns very egg white-y for a day or two.

Thank you so much.

Hello... I've tried to research this via google and the web ect but I believe I have what you mention towards the end of your article... I end my period and then within 2 or 3 days have my EWCM... I am sure of it being exactly that. That tells me that I am ovulating and that I am most fertile then... What are the odds of me getting pregnant if I had sex the day before my period? I'm also thinking that like you said maybe this if from the cause of a hormonal imbalance?

I had a 24 day cycle and February I started spotting the 10th it lasted for 3 days and got heavier lasting for about 9/10 more days. This month March 19, 2017 its been about 39 days since my last period started I still haven't started its a waiting game. I'm trying to conceive but its very hard for me to tell what's going on down there or if I am even ovulating. Can any help me.

Hi,

I would like to ask 6 months ago when I went to my doctor for some test regarding my ovary. The doctor told me to go back on my 14 days after my menstruation,She found out that I am capable to get pregnant anytime because she saw I have eggs on that time 14 days after menstruation. So meaning my ovulation is always 14 days even my cycle is 35 days?is that possible?
