Healthtalks Ep 5.  Mind reset – how to tame your sneaky mind.

Get this. Mel told us, we have have between 40 000 – 60 000 thoughts from the moment we wake up until the moment we go into a deep unconscious sleep? Whozers! No wonder I can get a headache at times and feel I’m going insane. I’ve tired to blame my daughter or my husband many times. Seems I only have myself to blame! I’m so guilty of this. But learning how to meditate has been one of the biggest gifts in my life. And get this… I’ve only really recently started meditating. Yes, you might say I’m slow on the uptake, but it was one of those things I didn’t make time for. Since starting to create the space, my life has changed for the better.

Mel pointed out just how about the place our minds are and when we add to this and all the other outlets (or maybe we should call them inlets) like facebook, internet, TV, social media, sms and mobile phones – it can also be at boiling point in there. Get ready to unravel your mind as Mel shares her tips. Not only does she talk meditation, she shares with Jess just how your beliefs create who you are – and these beliefs or thoughts that are constantly bashing about in our minds, can set us up for success or distress. Just 10 minutes each day is enough to tame the wild beast that can be within the mind. Go on. Try it on. I bet you will be ever so pleasantly surprised.



And rid of those ill thoughts – the ‘I’m fat, I’m poor, I’m this or that – because when we say things on repeat, we make them reality without even being conscious! It’s as simple as thinking new, good thoughts to help pave a brighter day AND be the best version of yourself. Just something else you can try on today to make it a little sweeter.
