Happy Days to ma Ladies! {International Women’s Day 2017}

How’s this Princess Leia look alike poster from a IWD in years gone by!

Today is International Women’s Day – a day in which we get to celebrate being the more feminine counterpart of the humans populating this beautiful and awesome planet.

I took this from wikipedia;

International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year.[2] In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements.

As a woman in business, a influencer and educator in women’s health, I feel like I can say, I get women – plus I am one so that helps a little too – just saying.  And don’t for one second get me wrong.  Men are equally as incredible for their very own reasons and the sooner we can accept they aren’t any good at multitasking, the better.  Enough said.

Mastering YOUR Mean Girl – your guide to getting it all on!

Do you have your very own ‘mean girl?’  Interesting question and perhaps something you’re not too sure of.  My gorgeous friend Melissa Ambrosini has freshly launched her new and debut book – Mastering your Mean Girl.  I’m here to tell you, THIS is one read that will leave you feeling inspired, shaken up and ready to take on your best life.  If you’re scratching you head hoping you don’t have a ‘mean girl,’ (mostly because she sounds downright nasty pasty) truth is, if you are human and you have a heart beat then hands down sister you absolutely have that inner voice that can be all kinds of rowdy and unserving.  She can be a loud and downright horrible at times and she can control your life like it’s nobodies business.

Mel is here with her new how to guide – to allow you to take the reigns and shut her down and send her to the mean girl corner where she can’t dictate your life.  You of course, want to know more.  I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mel to chat all things ‘mean.’  Watch below to learn exactly who she is (that mean girl), how she’s currently running (and possibly ruining) your life and how you can put an end to her and her temper tantrums today!

Do you love your hormones enough?

Isn’t it funny how things click into place always just when they should?  Although we may be, at the time none the wiser, hindsight always provides us with the realisation.  There’s been a theme running through me over the past few years.  Not really knowing or digging too far into it, I’ve allowed it to wash through every part of me – through my home life and family, my business, in practice, with my team, and through my blog.  In setting up deliberate structure around my business, I was guided to hone in on my highest values.  In doing so, it became apparent to me, that love was on the very top of my list.  And of course we all have different values, different priorities and various feelings and emotions that propel us.  Funnier though for me was, I never felt like I was a ‘lovey dovey’ type of gal – much like I never thought that what I did was very ‘feminine’ – but as you see (and you may be laughing because could it be any closer to what I do), both these things are central to who I am and what I do.  How we perceive things is up to us.

5 reasons why you need a break

It’s been all a-go-go for me as of late and it’s so time I took a little rest.  I’m currently in the middle of my Debunking Ovulation national tour and I’m feeling the love I have to say.  As you read this I’m on my way to Queensland for some family time before my next event, because, why not?  It’s a great reminder how unplugging can be a total reset for the body.  I’m absolutely going to soak it all up.
So with this in mind – when is the last time you took a break?  It doesn’t matter if it was a ‘mental health day’ or a trip up north (or south depending where you live).  Your time is absolutely key for health and fertility.  I want to share today 5 things that holidays are best for.

Balancing Hormones

Remember, we’re not designed to be constantly trickling adrenaline and cortisol via our adrenals.  This is a natural response to stress, and in our modern world, we are exposed to so much more stress than ever before.  It really is the modern day illness of the times.  With this in mind, because cortisol and progesterone compete for the same receptor sites in the body and cortisol being its bossy self always wins, it means it plummets progesterone and increases oestrogen.  This is bad news for balanced hormones!  So unplugging and distressing can rebalance things on so many levels.  It really is imperative for wellness.
