I’ve got to get out of here.

How are you?  I mean how are you really?  Me, I’m ruined.  I’ve just been on tour, I’m a mum, a wife, a business owner, a mentor and I’m also me.  I’m not here to complain, I’m here to share with you today how I’ve arrived at this point in hope to stir something within you if it so feels right.

I find winter hard.  I try to embrace it’s beauty and don’t get me wrong, I see it!  But I really struggle feeling cold.  Quite frankly it makes me grumpy and when winter really sets in and there’s no warmth in sight, it can get to me and bring me right on down.

Within the struggles of late (and everything seems so much worse when I’m cold), it’s becoming increasingly obvious that all I need truly is a good break.  Some time out, time to recharge the batteries and time to spend with myself.  How often as women we give and give, but our reserve tanks are so low, we are only giving a small portion of what we are capable of.  We are the masters of multi tasking and often the nurse, the cook, the cleaner and the glue.  There often isn’t time for ourselves.

When’s the last time you took time for yourself?  To truly spend some time nurturing you and your most inner being?  It may not be a grand trip or total removal from your current life – it may be organising an hour to yourself to chill.  Whatever it is, I encourage you to tap into that sweetness to fill up your love tank.

In my absence, I’m keen to hear what you want more of.  I’d love you to fill in the comments section below to tell me what you’d like me to write about, specific health conditions and all that jazz.  I’ll be coming back recharged and ready to take it on.

I know what you mean. I decided to take a 2 week blogging break just recently and it made the world of difference. In fact I came back to it with more inspiration! As a new mum I’ve been making sure to do be kind to myself. To have good self care practices in place and my husband looks after Flynn every Saturday so I can go and have some much needed rest and respite. Sometimes I’ve just had lunch on my own, or had a facial but I find it just helps so much to have that time out. Enjoy your time out.

Good for you Nat! I’m looking forward to doing this is 5 weeks time when I have a week between finishing my full time job and starting to work with my fiancée. Cant wait for a week of reading, relaxing and exercise.

Strangely enough, I would like to know about men’s hormonal health. I take an interest in my own wellness and would like to know what I can do to help my partner!

Anything on Endometriosis, heavy periods, eostrogen dominance would be great.

I second Justine – anything on endometriosis. 🙂

Iodine deficiency and iodine supplements? I’ve read that too much iodine can affect your thyroid just like having too little. So how do you know or find the right balance of an iodine supplement? Hopefully the answer isn’t just trial and error.

Congratulations, I hope you’ll have a wonderful time! I would really like to read more of when it stopped being ok to just be, and enjoy being alive. Why is everyone running so fast, working so hard, what’s the competition, what is it that we want really? What is it that people prioritize higher than love, presence and enjoying life? I just don’t get it, it seems like everyone got a book with a set of rules when they were born and now they are all trying to live by those rules, but me, I never got to read that book. What did it say?

Lisa I TOTALLY agree! I don’t have that book of rules either.. Unfortunately my partner does and its making life difficult at the moment 🙁

Me too!!! So hard when I try to live up to his expectations. He’s convinced that you don’t get anywhere in life if you don’t work hard for it. And by working hard he means producing stuff, making money. But working hard in my book can also be meditate to stress down, thinking positive, relaxing and taking a break when I need to, that is not easily done. What can we do to not adapt to this kind of mindset? It was nice to read your comment and feel that I’m not alone.
